St. George’s Academic Programs

Connected Learning

Through our connected learning programs, our students are ready to contend with the ever-changing landscape of the 21st century.

We support students and faculty to develop educational experiences that act as laboratories for deeper learning, the Connected Learning Department leverages passions, relationships, and our networked world to build knowledge and capacity of all within our diverse learning community. The department forges connections outside the classroom through continuous engagement with our surrounding environment, service learning experiences, and curriculum driven travel opportunities.

Geronimo

Through sailing excursions on the high seas, that range from four weeks to six, our students discover the joys and challenges of life aboard our 70-foot cutter. The Geronimo Program is multidimensional — combining a strong curricular component and cultural immersion with the development of skills in sailing, leadership, and teamwork.

Global Studies and Exchanges

Exposure to new ideas and experiences through St. George’s Global Studies Seminar, our Global Cultural Initiatives Program (GCIP) exchanges and study abroad opportunities help our students grow into independent thinkers with an appreciation and respect for diverse cultures throughout the world. Our GCIP program partners hands-on experience with a strong cultural awareness component. While living with a host family in London, Madrid, or Paris, students participate in dynamic three-week internships, which have included conducting scientific research at the famed Curie Institute in Paris, learning about the hospitality industry at a hotel in Madrid, and seeing global economics from a different perspective at a financial firm in London.

The Rogers Scholars Program

This four-day program runs each year during the spring, and is funded by the William S. R. Rogers Endowment for Public Policy Studies. Rogers Scholars program students typically get exclusive access to sites such as the White House, the Pentagon and U.S. Armed Services offices, the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Department of Commerce. The mission of the program is to give students a fully immersive experience in the nation’s capital, meeting federal lawmakers, policy experts, fundraisers, senior advisors, pollsters, campaign strategists, and lobbyists. Students will have access to bipartisan speakers in the fields of health care, strategic communications, technology, military policy, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, telecommunications and online reputation management.
